About the painting:
This painting is derived from a plein air study I painted on location during Rassawek Vineyard's Spring Jubilee festival. The Spring Jubilee occurs each year drawing hundreds of people to the sprawling countryside and rolling hills about an hour west of where I live. There you can enjoy regional wines, food, and music over the course of a weekend in May. Painting in a festival atmosphere is both fun and challenging. I painted one study in the midst of the crowds, and the second study in the peace of the vineyard beneath a rapidly changing sky. This painting is based on that second study.
