A group of seven professional Richmond artists bonded by a love of plein air painting, a five year group text and a cat named Archie.

For several years this small band of seven Virginia landcape painters, kindered spirits in art, have cultivated a bond through our mutual plein air painting group excursions. The informal name of our group, "The Archies," came about on a whim when an orange tabbie named Archie who lived next door, adopted us during a stay at a plein air festival.
While we all have our own styles and career paths, we share a love of the landscape as celebrated through the language of paint, light and color. This exhibit features recent plein air and studio paintings of each of the seven Archies.
The exhibit, hosted by the Richmond Public Library opens on November 4th, 2022 and runs through November 29th. Opening Reception on 11/4 from 7-9 PM during Richmond's First Fridays art walk.
