About the Painting: This is a scene inspired by a painting trip I took to the eastern shore of Maryland. One evening as I was painting on location there was a most unusual sky. The sun had been hidden by a blanket of haze the entire day, and then suddenly as the atmosphere began clearing from the ground up, the sun began to burn through, causing a comet-like streak across the sky. I hope you enjoy this painting as much as I enjoyed making it!
