Being from Virginia, the South is where I call home. So it is a subject I naturally find myself painting again and again. The Southern landscape offers rounded mountains, beautiful springtime blossoms, winding wetlands and romantic palms. While I love to travel, I'm finding I don't have to go far to find wonderful subjects to paint.

About the Painting: This is one of my favorite scenes to paint-- A beautiful flowering early morning meadow set in the valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains near the town of Nellysford. I so love it that I have painted several versions of this beautiful location, both en plein air and in my studio. I hope you enjoy this painting as much as I enjoyed making it!
